Meet Jadyn Fields!

Jadyn is a Senior working with the Office of Student Academic Engagement and Advocacy within the Capstone Center for Student Success. She serves as a mentor for first-year students who are members of the Lucy’s Legacy Living-Learning Community and serves as a go-to resource for issues and trends concerning the Lucy’s Legacy participants’ transition through their first-year of college.

Jadyn began as a Lucy’s Legacy Mentor, but her great work ethic, perfect grade point average, and enthusiasm about campus involvement, led her supervisor to give her the opportunity to be the first-ever Student Coordinator for Lucy’s Legacy. In this role, Jadyn creates engagement opportunities for the Lucy’s Legacy community (first-year students and student leaders), meets one-on-one with the first-year women, and represents her office at University-related recruitment events.

Jadyn’s supervisor, Kiara Summerville, shared the following, “I am confident that Jadyn will be a hallmark UA alumna – one who gives back to UA in various ways, shares her UA experience with prospective and incoming students, models our Capstone Creed (especially in the workplace), and who will always think of her UA degree as a badge of honor. She has already left an indelible mark on campus as an undergraduate student, particularly as an African American woman, and I look forward to seeing her join me in the fold as a proud UA alumna.”

Congratulations Jadyn on becoming The University of Alabama’s 2023 Student Employee of the Year!
