Student Employee of the Year

The Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) Award is for students who best embody the contributions and achievements of students who work while attending The University of Alabama.

Student Employee of the Year

Invitation

The Department of Human Resources invites all student employee supervisors to recognize eligible, outstanding student employees for the University’s annual Student Employee of the Year Award. The ideal nominee is an individual who best embodies the contributions and achievements of students who work while attending The University of Alabama.

Student employees are a vital part of UA’s campus community — they perform invaluable services with enthusiasm and dedication, all while balancing their individual academic commitments.  The contributions of student employees positively impact UA in a variety of ways, whether they are welcoming guests and visitors to campus, assisting fellow students, or providing support essential to the daily workings of all UA departments.

Eligible students are University of Alabama undergraduate Student Assistant employees and Work-Study student employees working in hourly, on-campus positions. To be considered, students must have worked a minimum of six months part-time (or three months full-time). For 2024-2025, the selection period is for work performed from June 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025 (anticipated).

Student Employee of the Year Nominations are due to the Department of Human Resources, Learning and Development in Spring 2025 and must be submitted online. Please take this opportunity to recognize the deserving student employees in your department for their outstanding contributions by submitting a Student Employee of the Year Nomination today.
