The Department of Human Resources invites all student employee supervisors to nominate eligible, outstanding student employees for the University’s tenth-annual Student Employee of the Year Award. The ideal nominee is an individual who best embodies the contributions and achievements of students who work while attending The University of Alabama.
Student employees are a vital part of UA’s campus community – they perform invaluable services with enthusiasm and dedication, all while balancing their individual academic commitments. The contributions of student employees positively impact UA in a variety of ways, whether they are welcoming guests and visitors to campus, assisting fellow students, or providing support essential to the daily workings of all UA departments.
Eligible students are University of Alabama undergraduate or graduate Student Assistant employees working in hourly, on-campus positions, Work-Study student employees, and Graduate Assistants. To be considered, students must have worked a minimum of six months part-time (or three months full-time). For 2018, the selection period is for work performed from June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2018 (anticipated).
The University of Alabama’s Student Employee of the Year will compete at the regional level and may also compete nationally. If this student is later selected as the National Student Employee Association’s (NSEA) National Student Employee of the Year, he or she will also receive a $1,000 award presented by NSEA.
Nominations are due to the Department of Human Resources, Office of Student Employment no later than Friday, February 9, 2018 at 5:00 pm. Additional information and nomination nominations must be submitted online at http://hr.ua.edu/student-employee-of-the-year-nomination-form.
